Lottie E. Porch is an award winning actor, writer, educator, director and producer for stage and screen. For over thirty years Ms. Porch has shared her talents in the realms of performing arts, written word, and cultural education. Whether she is acting on stage, publishing written works, teaching students in an African village, or singing a late night set at a jazz club – Lottie Porch brings her creativity to all apects of her life and work.
Born in Plainfield, New Jersey, Lottie Porch attended Plainfield High School and earned her Bachelors Degree from Fairleigh Dickson University . As a young artists and educator, Lottie studied writing for children at Bank Street College and African American history at Temple University. Porch was awarded a Masters Degree in Educational Theatre at New York University.
Lottie Porch has directed over 30 plays and musicals, published in leading literary journals, and has deveoted more than 25 years to teaching theater and language arts. Porch’s teaching, performing, and writing has taken her to venues throughout the United States, Europe, and Africa. Her recent ventures include participating in the Third World Newsreel Production Workshop where she directed her first film, “Beyond The Music” which has screened at the New York Museum of Modern Art and the Anthology Film Archive. Ms. Porch released her first CD of music and spoken word “Lottie Da – Poet I AM”
